I had my weigh in on Saturday. I lost 4.4 lbs, Without exercising - unless you count unpacking boxes. So this week - I want to talk to you about how to get started. 1) Portion control/serving sizes -- Read those labels. I use flavored creamer in my coffee every day. Before WW, I would pour it in until my coffee was very light. Come to find out - I only need 1 tbsp. It has the same taste. Read those labels. Use your measuring spoons. Use your food scale. 2) Write down everything that goes into your mouth. That will help keep you accountable.
A few things I didnt know/learned until I started WW
Your brain does not know the difference between hungry and thirsty. If you just ate or it hasnt been that long - and you think you want something to eat, drink a glass of water first. Wait 15 minutes. Still hungry? Grab some fruit or something fat free (small). Are you no longer hungry? You were just thirsty.
The old addage is true. You eat with your eyes first. When I use my 'special' 1 pt a slice bread - it is very thin. Since I only use 1-2 slices of lunch meat (be careful about your processed foods - that is a different day), my sandwich looks little and my eyes tell my stomach that is not enough. BUT if I put on it: Lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mushrooms, sprouts, etc - now I have the Dagwood. The picture is for reference (from the Blondie cartoon. Dagwood Bumstead would make this sandwich for himself.) If I put my version of the Dagwood - all I said above on a small plate, now my eyes tell my stomach, "WOW LOOK AT ALL THAT FOOD!" In reality, its just a sandwich and its only 2-4 points, maybe. WOOOOO. (Considering I only get 23 pts for a day)
OK = now lets get you a recipe.
I love using my crock pot. Set it and forget it.
